Render Unto Caesar his Golden Geek

In October, I told you how surprised and delighted Chad and I were to learn that Cthulhu Invictus (2009 edition) was nominated for a Golden Geek award. Earlier this month, we found out that it had made it to the short list. But this morning was the best of all. This morning, the folks over at RPGGeek.com announced that Cthulhu Invictus won the 2010 Golden Geek Award for Best RPG Supplement of the Year!

I can’t begin to tell you how thrilled Chad and I are — or how honored and humbled. I’ve spent most of the day trying to come up with something to say, and all I can think of is, “THANK YOU!” Whenever Chad and I were hashing out something for the book, in the end our discussions always came back to one thing: “What would make the book the most useful, and the most fun, for gamers? What would they like?” We wanted to create the best book we could for you guys.

Getting the Golden Geek award for Best RPG Supplement… I can’t begin to tell you how much that means to both me and Chad. I am a thesaurus of emotions right now — all of them good. 🙂

Or, as Chad said, “It is awesome beyond words that gamers liked it enough to award it a Golden Geek.”

Awesome beyond words, indeed.

I want to thank all the folks over at Chaosium for their help with Cthulhu Invictus. We couldn’t have done the book without you. And thank you, also, to everyone who gave us feedback while we were working on the first edition, and the second, and in between. We couldn’t have done it without you, either. Knowing what works, and what needs work, is one of a writer’s best tools. And thank you to Chad for asking me to do the book with him in the first place. It was fun, and I look forward to writing more just like it.
